Diabetic Complications

Some of the complications associated with various types of diabetes is a result of damage to blood vessels. This could be broken down into diseases caused by damage to large blood vessels and those caused by damage to small blood vessels.

Large Vessel Complications

  • Heart Disease
  • Stroke
  • Vascular diseases

 

Small Vessel Complications

  • Nerve damage, leading to foot pain, ulcers, infection, or even gangrene. This could ultimately lead to limb amputations.
  • Weaked and severe vision loss, including blindness
  • Renal or kidney failure
