Diabetic Management
As a diabetic, it is essential to control diabetes and manage
glucose levels. At this time there is no cure for diabetes
however some experimentations have lead to success in the
treatment of type 1 diabetes. Some
management options such as lifestyle changes, which include
diet and exercise, have shown to help in overcoming the challenges
that diabetics face. Additionally, orally ingested medications
along with insulin therapy (through injections or experimental
inhalation techniques) have helped controls the disease. Type
1 diabetes is almost always treated with insulin therapy.
With all types of diabetes, proper monitoring of glucose levels is an essential part
of the management of the disease. Many glucose monitoring tools can be purchased at a
local pharmacy and simply require a small amount of blood to accurately determine glucose
levels.
Along with the success of many medications, some natural
treatment options have shown positive affects against diabetes.
Some studies have shown that a few teaspoons of apple cider
vinegar can negate the effects of white rice on glucose levels
in the blood stream. Cinnamon has shown to be affective in
the reduction of glucose when one to six grams are consumed
daily. Excessive glucose levels in the blood stream have proven
to be a directly correlated with diabetics.
